Instagram puts an end to false information by updating its platform  and add new option to report the false information .
Instagram  announced Thursday the addition of an option that allows users to report messages that they believe are false that Facebook photo and video sharing service seeks to stop misinformation and other abuses on its platform.

Although the dissemination of false information is not prohibited on any of Facebook’s services, it takes steps to limit inaccurate access to users and warns users against various allegations.

Last May, Facebook began using image detection technology on Instagram to find content that turned out to be lying on its main site and expanded its third-party verification program to Instagram as well.

In order to prevent violations, results classified as false will be deleted from places where users are looking for new content, such as the Explore tab, and hashtag results.

Facebook has 54 partners in the information verification program, working in 42 languages, but Instagram‘s information verification program was only launched in the United States.

Stephanie Ottaway   said  « This is a preliminary step and we are working on a more comprehensive approach to combat misinformation «

In recent years, Instagram has been largely outside the scrutiny of its parent company, after Facebook’s role in influencing the 2016 U.S. presidential election was demonstrated by false information published on Russian accounts.

Now, it is believed that Russian customers have moved a large part of their business to Instagram, where the service has a shared and interactive facebook interaction, according to researchers at New Knowledge, which conducted the analysis and they said « Our assessment showed that Instagram is likely to be a major battlefield on a continuous basis, »

Facebook acquired Instagram in 2012 for one  billion dollars  and now has more than a one  billion active monthly users and more than 500 million active daily users.
